Footie Stadium 101

First it was the Emirates Stadium in London......

The stadium tour apparently costs 15 pounds, which I'm really not willing to part with.

Everything Arsenal.

For those of you who want to visit, the Underground stop is Arsenal (duh!!) on the Picadilly line.

Then, it was Camp Nou in Barcelona....

It doesn't say so, but this is Camp Nou....

People lining up to buy match tickets or tour tickets. This is another 18 Euro I'm not willing to part with.

Apparently, a footie stadium will not be complete without its megastore.

Inside, the store is made to look like a stadium.

By the time Estadium Santiagio Bernabeu is visited, I've learnt some tricks to keep myself amused (someone else paid for these tickets to get in).....

1. Take pictures of anything that spells the footie club in question to make all your footie fanatic friends jealous.

2. Look for a cutie... this one's Raul Lopez, number 24.

3. Take pictures of anything you can find that has the cutie's endorsement....

4. .....only to find that it actually belongs to another cutie with the same name.

5. Touch the pitch and make sure there is evidence that you have touched it....

6. ......especially if it's forbidden, just to impress your friends further. Then go home and brag about it.

1. Welcome to Madrid!!

Around this time, Madrid experiences droughts. Therefore, the fountains are switched off until it starts to rain. It starts to rain in April (ie, the time I was there)



Most aseos in Spain use these timed light switches. The light switches off by itself, usually while you are still in the middle of your business. Clever way to save electricity

God is moving

A break from posting Spanish photos, I agree with him. I am encouraged too. I am most encouraged that people continue to believe in God although they are tired, or have not been cared for.

Jesus was 30 when he was in ministry. That's our age. That means, it is now. It's not 20 years later when we are settled. It's now. It doesn't feel like we are ready, but it is now. And we are afraid of all sorts of things. But we know God has not abandoned us. In times of uncertainty, He is certain.

If you are from CBC Subang-Sunway and you are afraid/not ready/unsure, be certain that God is using us to move our church, whether you consider yourself old or young. God is not moving the young people, nor is He moving the old people. He is moving our church; the whole church. Believe and thank Him that He will send the people. He will send the care. He will send love. Claim God's promise that He will never leave us, because as far as I know, He is still keeping His promise.

Barcelona remains full of artistic influences and character. I love this place. This was the only place I've been before in Spain and the last time I was here, I loved it to bits. I haven't changed my mind.

I love that every street is filled with music, people display their artistic talents, folks talk vigorously in one of the most romantic languages, as if they are in the happiest place on earth. It was cold, approximately 6 degrees. But the atmosphere makes you wanna be outside, even if you are freezing and you forget your gloves.

Hola! Bienvenido Espanyol!!

I wish he was here to see this with me. I wish we could walk along La Rambla together, and Port Vell at night. I wish he could visit Casa Batllo, my favourite Gaudi creation.

He promised that we would.

I've forgotten how cold it could get, and it's Spring!! It's great to be back... I felt the atmosphere, the way people talked... there was a kind of forgotten familiarity.

It was 2 degrees and I was all bundled up. My face and fingers were cold and the busy-ness of London city had a kind of excitement to it.

Some things have changed, like the Underground trains are newer now. There's this new structure, fondly called "The Gherkin", which is near the Parliament House. New musicals are born.

The excitement had only just started.
